Self Portrait

In this self portrait, the artist has taken his inspiration from Georg Baselitz who has invented a series of pictorial strategies ranging from the unconventional to the disorienting. Most well known of these devices is his practice of turning the figure upside down.

Frankly this technique is helpful to the artist in helping him to avoid projecting his ideas as to what the subject should look like. In this way the artist paints what he sees rather than what his mind tells him to look for.
